Here are some of the best pieces and my favorite collections from the week.

Resort 16 totally snuck up on me.  In fact, I didn’t realized it was time for presentations until I found my Instagram feed blowing up with looks from various designer presentations.  It was my lucky day (or weeks, the way these things last). I love resort collections!  They are always one of the most wearable collections of the year and a precursor of what’s to come for the main season.

Some of the first posts that I saw were from Rosie Assoulin’s collection and I was immediately taken with her presentation (in a West Village town house).  Rosie, who just won the 2015 CFDA Womenswear Award, launched her brand during Resort 2014 and is getting some amazing and well deserved attention.  The young, cool, fashion set loves her and I love that she, and the girls who wear her, bring a new sophistication and dedication to great design (not just wearing a “hot” dress).  Rosie’s designs are totally wearable, yet her ideas feel so fresh and new.  Like the cut-out flower details this season.  And the pops of primary color she used.  And who doesn’t like waterfall-like ruffles? Here are my favorite looks:
