I posted about Taryn Toomey’s The Class  a few years ago and it is clear that this cathartic workout and it’s founder, Taryn Toomey, are in no way losing any steam.  On July 6th, Lululemon launched a collaboration with Toomey of beautiful workout pieces in a neutral, serene palette.  Attending one of Toomey’s classes, you immediately notice her understated style, and of course her back-knotted tops, which she helped create into a trend.  With the help of Lululemon, we are now all given the chance to look as stylish in any class or post-class.  If you act quickly, you can still scoop up some pieces on Lululemon’s website or calling select stores. What better inspiration to get yourself to that next workout class?

Rachelle Hruska MacPherson’s brand, Lingua Franca, was created one afternoon in Montauk, after taking a needle and thread to her cashmere sweater, hand-sewing some cool hip-hop lyrics.  Now, every fashionable New York woman can be found in these quirky cashmere sweaters. Just in time for the holidays, MacPherson is selling a few options for kids on Moda Operandi. How cute are they?

And as for Dad, I love this Pop and Tot sweatshirt from Tosan. I think the navy is equally as cute for little girls, as it is for boys. It also comes in a short-sleeved version. This is a sweatshirt any cool dad would be proud to wear.

I just recently learned about the young brand Whit through Moda Operandi’s trunkshow and was blown away by the Spring 17 line.  Designed by Whitney Pozgay, out of Brooklyn, the collection is full of airy cuts that are all perfect for warm weather (Whitney is from Arizona, so she gets it….).  And her prints are stunning, as well.  Co-designed by her husband, they nailed sophisticated and fun, which is not easy to do – especially at the same time.  I am particularly cautious with prints, but I seriously want to wear every single one in the collection.  The best part is that the line is very well priced.  Only 4 more days to shop at Moda until this trunkshow ends!

There is no question that the shoe of the fall season has been the Chanel two-tone slingback pump.  It has graced just about every stylish woman’s foot during fashion month.  The classic styling and neutral beige and black colors of this shoe work just as well dressed up as it does dressed down.  My favorite way to wear them is with denim; the more boyfriend-ish, or ripped hem, the better.  The clean Parisian style mixed with a little street attitude creates the perfect yin and yang.

Paris Fashion Week has ended and Bridal Fashion Week is now pulling up the fashion caboose.  What I love about bridal is that it is all about the dream… the wedding fairytale.  It is always fun to look, even after you’ve been the bride.

Thursday, Lela Rose celebrated her 10th bridal collection, showing in Union Square.  While I always love Lela Rose collections (I wore Lela Rose for my wedding), the use of pearl detailing, head wraps and short veils, textured fabrics and range of silhouettes were lovely combinations and perfectly polished.  Exactly how every chic bride would love to look on her wedding day.

While New York’s Spring/Summer 17 Fashion Week collections were not ground-breaking shows, there were some memorable moments and beautiful clothes presented.  Delpozo’s collection was exquisite with rounded proportions and undulating lines paired back with jaw-dropping oversized dangling earrings.  Marc Jacobs presented a high-octane show from start to finish.  He supplied energy and drama that, frankly, could have been used earlier in the week.  More honorable mentions include Rosie Assoulin and Brandon Maxwell for beautiful, wearable clothing.  I love that some of the newer designers continue to impress and make strong impressions on NYFW.

Fall is around the corner and I am loving this simple, yet chic look, which is perfect for an early fall cool-weather transition.  Combining high-waisted denim with a tucked-in white, romantic blouse looks pulled together and modern.  You can never go wrong with a white top and there are gorgeous versions this fall, from different lace varieties to appliqués, frill details, and neck ties.  And denim has never looked better; crops, patched, wide leg, raw hem are all on trend.  Wear this look with heels, boot, or flats – they all work and help keep the look new from day-to-day.  This is the perfect new uniform for the season.

Aquazzura’s summer shoe collection makes up the majority of the sandals on my summer favorites list.  Each style has personality for days and the bright colors bring so much energy to every outfit.  And, as a gift to all of our feet, their 2″ heels are just as cool as those 4″.  What’s better than a great looking shoe that feels good too?

 Seriously, they are all such stunners!

Bridal week is inherently gorgeous, but the Spring/Summer 17 presentation by Marchesa takes the cake for the season.
Inspired by an enchanted garden, the designers used a mix of 3-D flowers, flowing lace, ethereal tulle, romantic cuts, and styled each look with gorgeous, dramatic jewels.  The results were nothing short of bridal perfection.   And, infusing the blush color in the scheme was lovely.
