Packing my bag for the birthing center seems like a never-ending process. I’m packed, but I keep on running through each item over and over again in my head. Do I have everything? Am I sure? Of course I’ll miss something, but here are the important items, plus a few tips.
We are in baby mode at our house. At 37, almost 38 weeks pregnant, my nesting instincts are in full gear. And while I don’t have the baby’s nursery complete, as we are moving at the end of February (why not add one more thing to our plate?),
I am collecting ideas for the room and getting inspired. Read More…
I became obsessed with buying our daughter a teepee for her playroom as soon as I found out we were pregnant. Read More…
I’ve always loved getting dressed up, but doing so while pregnant poses a whole new host of challenges. Read More…
No one has ever claimed that getting dressed while pregnant is easy. Read More…

Mamas to be can rejoice: Madewell launched four of their own maternity denim styles today! They include a demi boot (totally on trend) and three different skinnies ( the lorelei is my favorite with it’s raw hem and ripped knee). Read More…
I love to shop – online, in store, anyway I can. But there is nothing like looking at wonderful product in a beautiful, inspiring setting. Enter Livly Stockholm on Reade Street in Tribeca, my new favorite children’s store. Read More…

In the last post, I focused on the more casual aspects of uniform dressing. Here are some additional looks to add to your arsenal. These will diversify your options and the end-uses for each outfit, as well as amp up the style quotient.
Sometimes, the addition of a blazer and a heel are all you need for a little fashion boost or to simply take you from day to night. Don’t forget that you may need to update your denim silhouettes. The fit is all about looser, cropped styles. Mom jeans!
After turning 30, getting married, getting pregnant, and becoming a mom, a big challenge for me has been figuring out what I am going to wear – or not wear. It may sound silly or trite, but having worked in the apparel industry for over ten years and being confident in every outfit I wore, I suddenly felt like most of my closet no longer represented who I was. It was a bit of an identity crisis. Who was I? I needed a fashion rebirth.

While I am a carbivore, my daughter is a total carnivore. Luckily, there are some meals that we can agree upon.
My goal is always to get T to eat what we are eating. I’d rather make one great meal than two time-pressed dinners. And I love recipes that make multiple meals, are easy to portion and are portable. These meatballs fit all of those prerequisites. Read More…
Before I had my daughter, I spent 10 years in apparel merchandising. And it’s true: even a little retail gets into your blood. I still love staying up-to-date on what is happening in the retail world and seeing how it is moving forward and evolving. Or, not… While the big brands continue to do business as usual, there are a handful of new, small, innovative brands making some noise in the business. One of my favorites is Everlane. Read More…
I never imagined how much time and energy feeding a baby/todler would require. My daughter’s next meal is always on my mind: What should I make? Will she eat it? Is it balanced? Do I need to go back to the grocery store? And I know a lot of other mothers feel the same was. I’d love it if T ate everything that my husband and I eat, but unfortunately, she isn’t there yet, so her meals often involve preparing something separate.
Little ones are always needing wardrobe updates; either the season changes or they outgrow their clothes – or both! Luckily, today, there are amazing clothing options for kids, from high end to mass, that provide just as much style and creativity as adult clothing. Read More…
My daughter turned 1 year old last Sunday and I was in complete planning mode all last week. We chose to do the party in our apartment, which meant that we had to transform the place a bit to make it special. I have to say, it still sometimes takes me a minute to realize that this is actually the stage of life I am in right now – planning baby parties. I absolutely love it, it’s just amazing how quickly life changes! And, she’s already 1!!!! I couldn’t help but look back at her birth pictures all last week. So nostalgic for that little itty bitty person she once was.
It isn’t difficult to find cute little girls clothing, but finding PRACTICAL cute clothes is another story. Luckily, I came across Rylee + Cru, a wonderful knit-based collection for girls and boys. This line satisfies so many criteria for dressing little kids. The coolest prints around? Most definitely. Beautiful graphics? Yep. Easy and modern silhouettes? Check. Most important: comfy and durable fabrics? Totally. And, it’s made in the U.S.A.
