While Delphine Manivet is not a new designer, she has managed to fly under the radar a bit, and stay relatively unknown. But, everytime I come across her designs: wedding, evening or couture, I remember just how good she is.
Specifically, I am obsessed with Ms. Manivet’s wedding dresses. Delphine designs for both a modern bride as well as one with a more romantic style. This is a woman who knows who she is: a late 20’s to mid 30’s Parisian professional, who prefers (or is too cool to care) her hair to be slightly undone, and always looks timelessly chic.
One of the qualities I love most about Delphine’s dresses is that she uses true white, which is so rare, surprisingly, for her dresses. It makes her designs look so clean and totally “of the moment”. Delphine also partners with century-old mills, in order to use the most gorgeous silks and authentic laces. As someone who loves beautiful fabrics and cares above all about quality and attention-to-detail, learning this made my heart beat a little faster. What I would do to get my hands on one of these beauties to see in person!
Delphine continues to put out amazing bridal collections each season, but I still love her Permanent Collection best. The Alexis dress is my personal favorite and I see it as the perfect city wedding frock. And the white pumps??? They just finish the look perfectly. Too many good dresses to share, but here’s a start…
