Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch

Over the past few years, my love for all things “entertaining” has grown.  As I’ve gotten older, I find myself loving tableware, linens, flower arrangements more and more (the 20 year old me is cringing).  And, of course, I also love food and cooking.  I was very fortunate to grow up with a mother who was – and continues to be – a wonderful hostess.  The thoughtfulness and care she puts into planning parties, big and small, is a quality I so admire and hope to emulate.  It couldn’t be more true that every detail counts when entertaining.

While It may take a very long time (and a hefty bank account) to acquire all of the sets of plates, silverware, and glassware, to create different and unique tablescapes, the new Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch collaboration is, currently, one of my favorite sets.  I absolutely adore Dodie’s original lettuceware, which happens to be extremely difficult to find, and the reproduction by Tory Burch totally satisfies my Dodie fix.

What I love most about lettuceware is how the design instantly adds so much texture and interest to a table. Really, with these dishes, very little additional decor is needed on the table to make it look special – although the white flower arrangements are truly a stunning element.   I also love the freshness that green brings to a table and what could be fresher than eating off of green leaves?  full-Tory
